Buying a pet

Are you considering buying a pet? What sort of a checklist do you go through before stepping out to get that cute little pet of your dreams?

Here are some suggestions.

First, who are you getting the pet for? Is it your little one? Perhaps granny or granpa? Maybe it's for you, a trendy young gal or guy who is working their way to the top. In every case, I'd recommend looking at each person's lifestyle. What kind of pet would suit their way of life?

An energetic puppy might be tough for granny to take care of. In the same way, aggressive dogs like Alsatians and Rottwielers are a bit too temperamental to keep around your inquisitive children. You get the drift now.

Second point to consider is the home. If you think about it, some homes are more suitable for certain types of pets. Think of a big bouncy Border Collier in a small 3rd floor apartment. Or a rather impressionable African Grey Parrot in  a noisy environment.

Thirdly, think of the expenses. Some pets might be a bit tight on the budget. And this is in addition to grooming, food, toys and of course, regular visits to the V-E-T.
